Li Shuwen is known for many things, but the most important is that he devoted his life to martial arts and became famous for it. He considers this his most important trait, and it is a path that he doesn't regret at all. The path of someone looking for strength... Either physical or just the conviction of someone's life.
This man is full of pride. He's proud of his lifestyle, his fists and his devotion. Many times he would speak greatly and fondly about how important it was for him, he would also draw comparatives to previous encounters in his life to see how strong an opponent is. However, this is not a boast for his ego or anything, just the normal thoughts of someone who learned, fought and murdered in his past life.
Assassin often seems serious and calm when he's not in battle, having calm conversations with his Master Julius. Outside of battle there's a man who doesn't see the difference between justice and evil, but rather thinks rationally about his acts and reacts accordingly. This is mostly because the way he lived in China in the old times. This reflects in his actions as well as his lifestyle.
To not forget that he trained his body and his inner energy above anything else, he meditates and uses his chi to conceal himself to the point of not being detected. He knows his fists are cursed to only bring destruction, but that doesn't mean he kills for pleasure. In fact, he once said that he wouldn't be able to sleep peacefully at night if he killed as much as his Master did.
To have reached that point, Li Shuwen sacrificed many things, but he holds no regrets. He's truly aware of what his path full of blood brought to him and he left the right to judge him in the hands of Karma.
When in battle he's eager to see what his opponent can do against him. Considering he went trough many battles, his whole life is reflected in his achievements. "A Second Strike is Needless" is attributed to him because of his powerful strike, strong enough to kill a man without having to hit him again. Against the enemy Servant, Assassin often laughs, pleased to meet a strong opponent, and doesn't hold back. If he's not comfortable with something, he will make it clear, depending of the reason of his uncomfortableness.
However, there's another part of him that he doesn't show unless there are special circumstances, which doesn't mean he's not aware of its existence. When the karma of his actions took his life, it was said that Li Shuwen's madness was present until the last moment. The paranoia and hatred that he brought from many murders consumed him alive with their poison. This is also seen when he resisted the deletion of the system in the Holy War, causing him to return later as a Berserker whose only desire was to keep spilling the blood of his enemies as long as he could continue to be alive.
